Villa Wellington Restaurant

Villa Wellington is a Peruvian Restaurant located in Verdun. It is not expensive and serves BIG portion (I don't even exaggerate it is really huge).

We started the dinner with a seafood soup. There were plenty of mussels, shrimps and palourdes. The soup was tasty and a bit spicy.

«Arroz chaufa» is a fried rice seafood. It reminds me of Spanish paĆ«lla. The rice absorbed the bouillon which made them tasty and different from the Chinese fried rice (the name Chaufa really similar with the Chinese dish Chow fan). I liked this one the most among all the dishes.

«Jalea» is a plate composed of fried shrimp, calamari and fish over thinly sliced fried potatoes. It is offered in small or big size. The one below on the picture is considered small. The batter was good not too think or soggy. However, my friends said that the calamari were comparable with those from Marven's (but still missing something to stand against Marven's famous fried calamari).

Here is a picture to give a perspective on how big this portion of fried seafood was.
«Lomo saltado» is a dish of stir-fried sliced beef with onion, tomato and french fries. It was quite oily and didn't taste any particular spices.

«Seco de Cabrito» which is in this case a beef stew with coriander. It was bland, I expected the flavour of coriander and other spices more prominent. The meat was tender and not dry. It was served with a bowl of fluffy withe rice.

Even though we got an excellent value for the food, it was still expensive overall.
